According to GB 17399-2016 National Food Safety Standard for Candy, candy refers to sweet food products made primarily from sugar, syrup, or sweeteners through relevant processes. (1) Registration of Candy Export Production Enterprises

According to relevant laws and regulations, candy export production enterprises must register with customs authorities. Registration can be completed via the Internet + Customs integrated online service platform or the China Export Food Production Enterprise Registration Management System.

(2) Application for Inspection and Document Review

Before accepting export declarations from food production enterprises or exporters, customs authorities will review the inspection and quarantine applications and require the submission of relevant documents.

(3) Local Inspection

Applicable to goods selected by the export goods electronic ledger system for batch inspection, corresponding inspections will be conducted.

(4) Comprehensive Evaluation

For export processed candies not flagged by the electronic ledger system, customs will conduct a comprehensive evaluation based on the information submitted by the enterprise and factory inspection records. Those meeting the standards will be approved for export.

(5) Certificate Drafting and Issuance

Customs will issue the corresponding inspection certificates for qualified export processed candies, while non-compliant products will result in the drafting of a Notification of Non-Compliance for Outbound Goods.

(6) Handling of Non-Compliance

For non-compliant export processed candies, customs will issue a Notification of Non-Compliance for Outbound Goods. The relevant export candies can only be exported after undergoing technical treatment to meet the standards.

Compliance with Import Country Standards:Ensure that exported food products meet the standards or contractual requirements of the importing country, as well as the requirements of international treaties and agreements.
Addition of Food Colorants:Different countries have varying requirements regarding the types and limits of food colorants that can be added to candies.
Obtaining International Certifications:Products exported to different countries must obtain locally required certifications, such as BRC certification, IFS certification, etc.
Allergen Labeling Requirements:Familiarize yourself with the allergen labeling requirements of trading countries, such as the explicit requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
